These are Red Fancy Splenden that I personally hand-selected base on coloration, body shape, and form.
Ideal traits includeHigh deep red coloration in the body.
No iridescence on the head or the flank of the body.
Iridescence on the back is acceptable.
No facial or body deformities.
This is a domesticated form of the betta splenden with has many man-made mutations as well as hybridization with other splenden species.
Temperament: Males are VERY aggressive and should be kept alone or in tanks with non-male betta mates. Can be kept in a planted community tank of multiple females if there is adequate space.
Max Size: 2.3 inches
TDS: 60 - 200
Temperature: 75-85 (much better coloration at a warmer temperatures above 78 degrees)
Diet: Carnivorous, we currently feed them live blackworms, frozen bloodworms and pellets.
