The Red Neon Blue Eye Rainbowfish, also known as Pseudomugil Luminatus, is a stunning nano fish native to freshwater rivers and streams in New Guinea and Indonesia. They are a captivating addition to planted aquariums due to their vibrant colors and peaceful nature. Males boast vibrant red-orange bodies with electric blue accents, particularly on their fins. Females are a more subdued silver with a hint of blue. Both males and females grow to about 1 inch long.
PH: They thrive in slightly acidic, soft water with a pH of 6.5 to 7.5.
TDS: Adaptable, we keep them in tap water with tds of excess of 200.
Temperature: range of 64.4°F to 78.8°F (18°C to 26°C).
Diet: They are omnivores and enjoy a varied diet of high-quality flake food supplemented with small live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. Their mouths are tiny, so ensure the food is appropriately sized.
Habitat: In the wild, they are found in densely vegetated areas. Replicate this environment in your tank with plenty of live plants and floating plants for cover.
