Type of paradise fish.
IUCN Red List: LC
A colorful Gourami like fish with striking red and green stripes on its flank. They are very wide spread and are widely distributed throughout asia. Males have extended anal dorsal and caudal fins while females have a much rounder body. Unlike bettas, these fish tolerate their peers and usually establish a pecking order in groups. A pair can be kept together in a 5 to 10-gallon tank. They are also very hardy and tolerant of different water temperatures making them great beginner fish.
