Indonesian Native Fish Combo Pack – Betta albimarginata, Parosphromenus linkei, and Boraras maculatus

Reccomended tank size : 15 to 20 gallon.

1x Betta Albimarginata "sebuku" pair
5x Parosphromenus linkei
6x Boraras maculatus

Discover the beauty of Indonesia’s blackwater streams with this carefully selected trio of rare, compatible nano fish. This combination features a pair of wild-type Betta albimarginata, five Parosphromenus linkei (Licorice Gouramis), and six Boraras maculatus (Dwarf rasbora) — all species that naturally coexist in soft, acidic, tannin-rich waters. Perfect for aquarists seeking an authentic Southeast Asian biotope or a peaceful, visually striking community tank.

The Betta albimarginata pair provides elegant movement and bold maroon coloration, Parosphromenus linkei bring shimmering iridescence and graceful courtship displays, while Boraras maculatus add lively schooling behavior and warm red tones to the midwater zone. Together they form a balanced ecosystem — visually stunning, behaviorally fascinating, and entirely harmonious when kept in well-structured aquaria.

Size:

Betta albimarginata: up to 5 cm (≈ 2″)

Parosphromenus linkei: about 3 cm (≈ 1.2″)

Boraras maculatus: about 2 cm (≈ 0.8″)

Water parameters:
Soft, acidic, clean water is essential.
pH 5.5 – 6.8; GH ≤ 8 °d; KH ≤ 4 °d; TDS < 150 ppm.
Use leaf litter, driftwood, and botanicals to replicate natural blackwater conditions and provide cover.

Temperature:
24 – 28 °C (75 – 82 °F); stable and warm conditions promote health and breeding behavior.

Food:
All species thrive on small live and frozen foods such as daphnia, blackworms, and brine shrimp. Supplement with high-quality micro-pellets and soft granules for variety and conditioning.  Must provide live food for parosphromenus!

Compatibility & behavior:
Peaceful and perfectly compatible.

Betta albimarginata occupy lower levels.

Parosphromenus linkei prefer mid-level shaded zones.

Boraras maculatus school actively in the upper to midwater layers.

Their overlapping environmental needs make this trio a natural, balanced community for blackwater or biotope aquariums.

Why this combo works:
All three species share similar water parameters, feeding habits, and calm temperaments — making this pack an excellent choice for aquarists new to Southeast Asian nano species or for those building a visually cohesive display inspired by Borneo’s forest streams.
