These fish are caught from the province of Hau Giang
Wild caught Betta Imbellis from Vietnam. Imbellis are known for their red trimming on the caudal, anal and ventral fins. They also have dual bars iridescence on its cheek plates. They are very similar and closely related to betta siamorientalis. Like all wild fish, they have "green" metallic coloration with blue iridescence.
They are not line-bred or contain any hybridization like most Imbellis you have seen from farms. They might contain some hybridnization from the release of figther type splendens historically.
- Body shape: Elongated and slender typical of wild splenden type.
- Coloration: Base body color is dark brown to black, often with iridescent blue scales on the operculum and fins. Males exhibit a distinctive red, crescent-shaped band on the caudal fin. The blue-green bars on the operculum is distinctive in this species and is shared by its cousin Betta mahachiensis.
- Fins: The caudal fin is round or crescent-shaped, hence the common name "Crescent Betta." Other fins are generally shorter and less elaborate than those of other Betta species. Caudal fins are almost exclusively roundtail.
- Habitat: Found in shallow swamps and marshes away from open water. Often on the margins of water bodies. They are very fond of rice paddies.
