Mouthbrooder type betta originating from Sumatra, Indonesia. These can be maintained in a pair or a group. Males are generally larger with more iridescent on the cheek plates. These bettas can get very big so it is recommended that you house them in 10 or larger tanks.
Their natural habitat consists of calm, blackwater stream with overhanging plants and vegetation.

Temperament: Territorial. Can be kept in pairs with adequate space
Max Size: 4+ inches
TDS: 60 - 200 (We keep them in soft water with low TDS to match our other wild bettas but they are more tolerant of water conditions.)
pH: 6.5 - 7.5
Temperature : 75-85 (much better coloration at a warmer temperatures above 78 degrees)
Diet: Carnivorous, we currently feed them live blackworms, frozen bloodworms, and pellets.
